Set among the mature trees of Sika Woods in Enniskerry, this four-bedroom family home called for an approach rooted in its landscape — warm, considered, and utterly personal.
The Brief
The clients came to us with a clear vision: a home that would grow with their family over the next twenty years, one that felt connected to its woodland setting without being self-consciously rustic. They wanted quality materials, spaces that functioned beautifully day-to-day, and a calm aesthetic that wouldn’t date.
Materials & Palette
Wide-plank oak flooring runs throughout the ground floor. Walls are finished in a warm white mixed specifically for this project. All joinery was designed in-house and made locally — every cupboard, shelf, and built-in unit drawn in detail to ensure the proportions were right for each space.
The Living Spaces
The living space anchors the project — a generous open-plan room opening directly onto the garden through full-height glazing. A custom sofa in warm linen faces a statement fireplace in honed limestone from County Clare. A large-format artwork commissioned from an Irish painter responds to the colours of the garden beyond.
Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen is a custom design in pale sage-grey cabinetry with a thick Calacatta marble worktop. The dining area is defined by a bespoke oval table in oiled oak and a statement pendant in hand-blown glass.
The Bedrooms
The four bedrooms each have a distinct character while sharing the material language of the rest of the house. The principal bedroom is deliberately serene — all-white bedding, linen curtains, and a dressing room behind concealed panelled doors.
The Garden
The terrace is paved in the same limestone as the fireplace surround inside — a thread that connects the two spaces. Deep planting along the boundaries gives privacy without closing off the woodland views beyond.
